A little bit about the process…

The original hand carved linoleum blocks are individually inked with light-fast oil-based inks and printed using a printing press on fine art quality paper.

Prints are numbered and signed on the front side. Please, note that due to the manual process, slight variations in detail and colour might happen, however, those variations make every print unique.

LINOCUT Technique

Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut where a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller , and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a printing press.

Block print.

Printed from linoleum hand carved blocks simulating brush strokes. The colors are also hand mixed using oil based ink in eight colours:  core jaune,  cardinal red and geranium red from charbonnel traditional etching ink, process blue and opaque white from cranfield traditional and sakura red.

This is the fourth artwork of what i see like a series of more organic works coming. The irregular shapes and the spontaneity of a brush stroke, combined with the soft colors, gives a unique freshness to this original composition.

Those works are also a tribute to Miro´s work, as the shapes clearly remind some of his most minimal compositions. The placement of the signature also reinforce that tribute, like a surrealistic poem.

It is printed onto 150 gsm Hahnemuhle etching board - two watermarks, 100% acid free.

Soft white paper.

The size is 39 x 50 cm, so it fits perfectly a 40 x 50 cm frame using a 5 cm paspartu.

All materials used are of archival quality, so if treated correctly this artwork will last for centuries to come.

Prints are titled and signed on the front side. Due to the nature of the process, some variations in detail and colour can happen, have in mind that every print is inked and printed separately from scratch, which makes every print a unique piece of art itself.

All my works are original handmade art works and they should increase value with the years.
